Sleeping Dogs will be made into a movie with Simu Liu in the title role Simu Liu ("Shang-Chi", "Arthur, You Are King", "Barbie") will also act as a producer of the screen adaptation - writes IGN. The movie already has a director and screenwriter, but their names are not disclosed. Story Kitchen studio is responsible for the project, which is not the first time to work on movies based on video games ("Sonic at the Movies"). It is unknown when filming will begin and when the release is planned. The previous attempt at a movie adaptation of Sleeping Dogs starring Donnie Yen failed - it was canceled in January 2025, 8 years after the announcement.
