indeed, but a beautiful tale of love I wish it weren't assigned reading, because I probably would have really enjoyed it if I wasn't forced to read it long ago

Its crazy how much badly paid teachers and structures designed for establishing social cultural norms can fuck up good things like culture. Took me years to return to the classics and read them again. Turns out there are good reasons they are classics.
