this is something nerdy that probably only i care about: the length of telomeres don’t really matter, it’s the rate of shortening that does

now that's a word I haven't heard in a long time. ok, now use it in a sentence... "It's a tossup as to whether startup life or having a child has increased the rate of my telomere shortening more." In jest, of course, I'm about as much of a non-expert as they come.

that’s actually a good example to consider! stress (oxidative stress) does influence telomeres
