Dan has always been super nice to me. His cast responses can come off terse but if you ignore that, he’s usually pretty friendly. He also took the time to meet with me yesterday which isn’t something he’d do if he didn’t care about his users. 🤷🏻♂️

In my conversations with you I think you’re a pretty down to earth guy and very approachable. But i would have to wonder of the fact that you run a channel of such importance has to do with him taking the time to meet with you. I don’t particularly think he would give someone like me the time of day. Personally, I don’t care if he gives me the time of day or not. I am to assume he needs a ghost writer for his casts. This is the same man who had to go on a cast damage control tour after that interesting content shenanigans.

That might be true but Dan has been thoughtfully replying to me since almost the beginning of my time here. When I had 1500 followers and most of my casts looked pretty bad, he still responded to my questions and arguments about power badges and spam labels. I do agree that he can come off terse but that’s more a function of it being over text than him actually feeling that way (imo). Hes much more down to earth in person.

I've been to a few dev calls. Dan _definitely_ comes off less friendly and more closed-off via text than video. I only get replies once in a while, but it doesn't stop me from replying when I think it's valuable :)

It’s always a good time to take a look from the outside and see if it’s actually because the person is mean or rude, or if there is something else happening. I’m bad at this, but I try to practice this more and more these days

From what I’ve seen, i agree. I’ve been thinking about it, I come off super mean in text more often then not. While I tend to realize it and double back pretty quick, this isn’t necessarily a mandatory thing that people have to do. I’d say if a person has a real issue, with him, see how he sounds in person before solidifying the judgement I just chalk it off to “vc backed life” more than anything else .
