is the feed algo for warp/fc proprietary, and if so why

Yes

1) no one actually wants "choose your own algo" (stated vs revealed preference)

2) vast majority of people couldn't afford the infra cost if they wanted to run it themselves

agreed on both points. Wondering to myself if agents change this

“Hey can you show me less of this [insert topic]”

That's not necessarily about the algo though - you can accomplish this by dumping the entire dataset into a database and doing RAG on it
