I wish more American land developers understood this strategy back in the 1900s instead of building American cities for cars instead of people. Maybe we'll figure it out this century. It's hard for me to want to live anywhere outside of NYC because an urban pedestrian lifestyle isn't really possible anywhere else today in America.

Have you heard of Culdesac? Closest thing I've found to "a city for people instead of cars” https://culdesac.com/

Yeah i've heard of it but it feels like more like a planned suburban community rather than a walkable neighborhood connected to a large urban center

This is cool idea, I read about it long ago when I was part of cityDAO, I don’t like Arizona tho, maybe not doable in NYC but maybe in the Catskills area, this could be cool. My friends have a place up there and it changed a lot during covid, tons of Brooklynites moved to the area! That could be a great area to try this. Just 2 hours north of the city.

planning of modern cities is done in such a way so that tanks and military can travel fast and so that the population cannot easily block roads during riots
