Saturn is the Roman name of Kronos, the Titan of Greek mythology, which is considered a symbol of the passing of life and time. According to ancient myth, he usurped the throne of his father Uranus as ruler of the universe. Afterwards, Cronus feared that one of his sons would do the same to him; So he devoured them at birth (except Zeus who escaped). In this painting, appropriate colors and mapping are used to create a sense of fear and the strangest space conditions between Saturn and his son, which makes it one of the most difficult paintings in the world.

Adele Bloch Bauer was a close friend and supporter of Gustav Klimt. She was the daughter of Maurice Bauer (general manager of Wiener Bank) and Ferdinand's wife. The friendship between Klimt and Adele made Adele become the portrait model of this painter several times, and the above painting is one of the most famous portraits left by him.
