While the Rolex company was indeed founded in London in 1905 by Hans Wilsdorf, Born in Germany in 1881, Wilsdorf moved to London at the age of 17 and took a job working for a watch importing company. Quickly captivated by the watchmaking industry, Wilsdorf established his own company, Rolex, in 1905.
