Our /citynouns Builder DAO funding proposal passed with overwhelming support: 132 For, 1 Against, 43 Abstain. To us, that level of consensus signals something loud and clear: this community is hungry for new ideas, fresh energy, and trusted contributors who are ready to build. To everyone who voted, shared encouragement or asked thoughtful questions, thank you. This wasn’t a rubber stamp. It was a true test of whether something ambitious, grounded in public goods and community onboarding, could still resonate. The answer was yes, and we’re humbled by that. To the lone “Against” vote: I hear you. Healthy skepticism sharpens us. In fact, it reflects a broader tension in Builder DAO—one between caution and creativity, between burn rate and regeneration. That brings me to a deeper question I hope we can all explore together: If Builder DAO isn’t funding well-structured, community-driven ideas from people who’ve shown up and contributed, what exactly should we be funding? Since at least late 2023, when I did a sketch of Builder DAO’s burn rate, the DAO has spent more per month than it brings in. If nothing changes, the math catches up with us—it would have cleaned out the treasury in the summer of 2024 if not for other issues. The old path isn’t sustainable—and this vote was a clear signal: the community wants a new one. The City Nouns proposal passing signifies a call for new energy, new ideas, new leadership. It's a call for change. ...

A call for more funding proposals that not only inspire, but: + Deliver measurable, public-facing outcomes + Create long-term, regenerative ROI for the protocol + Embody Builder DAO’s core values + Onboard new creators, builders and communities Our City Nouns proposal met those criteria. We built this City to ask a simple question: What is this protocol willing to support? The answer came through, boldly. Alignment still matters. New ideas still matter. And trusted builders still matter. Let’s keep building—not just with caution, but with courage. 🟥 With deep gratitude, ~Zamees
