Hockey isn't too new in Seattle, there is a very rich hockey history. Vancouver was the reason Seattle got a team in the past. Seattle was actually awarded an expansion team in 74' but Vancouver had majority interest in the Seattle totems.
The totems owners filed suit against the canucks for antitrust violations.
