We're bringing native interoperability to the Superchain this year. This means low-latency, fungible, and portable assets across chains. Two pieces to enabling this are the message passing protocol and the token standard. We're looking for feedback on the token standard, let us know what you think. Link below!

2 questions: Does this mean smart accounts have to spin up an ephemeral EOA to bridge? Will there be a similar extension to the optimism 721 bridge with similar ergonomics? The message passing seems nearly identical.

Great idea! We just brought native WELL to Base as an xERC20. I hope the superchain token standard can be compatible with xERC20, because we really don't need "yet another token standard..." 😅 I believe our xERC20 can simply be upgraded to support the native OP messaging layer for mint/burn.

Not sure if it’d work here, but felt like wrapping or bridging was always a hassle w/ potentially high gas Would be nice to be able to send one token to an address, & receive an equivalent token at the intended destination

We could add an execute instruction after the mint ? I think it should be added as it may reduce txs for users

Is the `L2ToL2CrossDomainMessenger` smart contract deployed on testnets? Can't find anything in the docs or in the Optimism contract addresses documentation. Would love to help implement the spec and start playing around with sending tokens between Sepolia OP and Sepolia Base.

Not token standard but I must highlight the developer experience with @across bridge here. Especially Across+ where the (token) bridge transaction also takes a message param (if the recipient is a contract) which can contain arbitrary info for the destination chain. Super easy to integrate!

Superchain ERC-20 token standard is a game-changer in the world of blockchain development. As a developer, I have found this standard to be incredibly user-friendly and efficient. The clear and concise guidelines provided by Superchain have made it easy for me to create, deploy my own ERC-20 tokens with minimal hassle.

Exciting news about bringing native interoperability to the Superchain! The prospect of low-latency, fungible, and portable assets across chains is truly groundbreaking. I'm particularly intrigued by the focus on the message passing protocol and the token standard.
