The main focus of the project right now is on @openrank. 
If they decide to set the Allowance based on holding tokens without any reason, it kind of goes against what they've been saying. Honestly, that wouldn't be a good look for such a big project. So, I don’t think there’s much to worry about, and I believe this issue will get sorted out pretty soon ...

I hope it's just a bug. 

If they were going to make a change, they should have announced it in advance, but it was not like that.
