Party pooper here. Schussing not chosen canid behavior. V easy to ask too much of our pals. Unpopular hill I’ve died on before 🤘

Not sure I understand the second sentence. Might not be for every dog, but some very active dogs would love this. Mine being in that category. Most dogs would just stop running and start to walk if it wasn’t their jam.

The risks to dogs are not obscure. You’re just not right about “most dogs would stop running,” staying with their person overrides for many “It's worth noting that many veterinarians and animal welfare organizations discourage dog owners from participating in downhill skiing with their dogs, citing the high risk of injury and potential harm to the dog's physical and mental health.” “The ethics of dog sports, including downhill skiing, require careful consideration of the dog's welfare and well-being, as well as the potential risks and benefits of participation." (Journal of Applied Animal Welfare Science, 2020) “Downhill skiing with dogs is a high-risk activity that requires careful consideration of the dog's physical and psychological abilities..."
