How are you finding Rodeo these days? I’ve seen fewer Top9 and a few of my favorite artists aren’t as active on the app either.

The art community was traumatized by the degen bans as they were likely the hardest hit group of people, who were legitimately contributing to the Farcaster ecosystem. The community took a step back. It was incredibly divisive. I’m still sad about it because it was the last straw for some. Additionally, funds are drying up without as many tipping tokens contributing to liquidity (before there was Moxie, RARE, and degen). People who were trying to flip on Rodeo were discouraged by the bots (they just added a solution). There will be cycles. Rodeo will evolve. Users on Warpcast complained about the feed consisting of too many top 9s. We need to able to share curations of work in our wallets in new ways than the conventional top 9s so we can communicate with more intention. Many of the biggest names dropped 27-30 artworks and have stopped minting for now (this was always what I thought would be the case). I will say this, I am still gaining nearly 100 followers per day. The party isn’t over.

Also, while it’s advertised as “don’t overthink it” and they are called posts, the reality is for many artists, this just isn’t the case. We are still minting our artwork and most of the best bodies of work are intentional and take time, thought, and the process to be created. There will always be waves. I was talking to a friend about early YouTubers last night. There will be HUGE first mover advantages if this ecosystem scales. I am focused on account growth, growing my art collection, and continuing to mint my own body of work. It’s just a matter of finding the best way to pace myself and keeping it sustainable. It’s just a pause. I believe the pace will pick back up when there is additional innovation with Rodeo.
