@dawufi think it depends on your definition of "worse" I'm sure a 1st Gen American today who lived through a decade of internment after WWII may have a different perspective than you or me. Just saying dude…

please expand - I don't understand - perhaps it's b/c I was raised by two selfish fks - but jingoism, nationalism, and anti-semitism doesn't feel like it was as overtly weaponized than today's america

Dunno, there are a lotta parallels between the weaponization of capital, media, and infrastructure... Perhaps we need to give Trump longer to prove this hypothesis, as each maybe awful in their own right. If you recall in Nazi Germany, it started with mass deportations, and we all know how it ended. Most likely were it not for Pearl Harbor, America wouldn't have joined the Allied forces. So, that undercurrent of sleeping anti-semitism, probably never really left this nation. My greatest fear is that America will become a cult of personality rhetoric dividing machine that normalizes hatred, bullying, and vitriol.

Trump had 4 years and turned over power. We can keep waiting but I'm saying evidence points to things being different and much better.
