I'm not sure, I have an iPhone w/ ATT, and I just added their eSIM as a secondary number / plan and it just worked. Not sure if because my phone is fully paid off or it's been international that means it's unlocked. Feel like that's more of an issue with old school physical SIMs. NS tbh.
