My favorite religion is Buddhism, for the same reason I love the blockchain space: Buddhism is inherently a decentralized system. In fact, it’s the only faith I know where the founder said, “Don’t trust anything I say on faith, you have to validate it yourself.” Validation in Buddhism means critically analyzing the Buddha’s teachings and applying them to your own experience. In that sense, a Buddhist is like a block validator—you personally verify and relive the “Buddhist algorithm.” Buddhism is like an algorithm: a set of principles that, if followed, lead to happiness and the creation of a kind, fair, and benevolent society. This reminds me of how bitcoin works: a decentralized system designed to benefit all beings, not just a select few. That’s why I think Buddhism is pretty much a decentralized religion—and perhaps the least religious of all religions.
