I made this as a COVID project and just ordered a kit to make another one https://www.reddit.com/r/olkb/comments/ho7ghe/my_first_mechanical_keyboard_split_keyboard_ortho/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

I didn't know how to 'properly' touch type before I got this keyboard The ortholinear part definitely made it easier to know which finger I'm supposed to use to hit each key The blank keys and qmk layers definitely made symbols hard though

I'd also really recommend a split keyboard. Much better for your forearm/wrist alignment, and opening up your shoulders/chest More so than the ortholinear part Here's a great split ortholinear (both columns and rows) keyboard https://splitkb.com/products/aurora-helix

Yeah I can do blank keys for all letters. For symbols mmm hit or miss I think. Do you have your keyboard programmed with shortcuts like Ctrl+c is double tapping the c key or something ?
