yes, this is a close enough description, i'll write a more accurate article very soon $degen itself is not a super token, so it's automatically wrapped into degenx (which is a super token) when you deposit your $degen $degenx is streamed in real time and both balances are updated in real time (block by block)

... this is basically possible because we modify the balanceOf function of erc-20 to include both streams and distributions your balance is calculated every block depending on your flowrate and your previous balance it's a simple linear function: balance(t)=flowrate(t-t0)+balance(t0)
