Loans aren't taxable. Ok so now you're saying you want to collateralize with the ETH. This is very different because you're taking on the risk of ETH dropping 30%. I just wouldn't do this tbh, and that's probably more risky than L2/sidechain stables lending.

Ok what's your LTV? If your downpayment is $50K, do you have $100K in crypto? Alchemix only does 50% LTV so I'm assuming you need less than $50K but have $100K.

I'm going to be honest, if it were me, and the bank was able to give me a loan on the downpayment (this seems odd to me but you mentioned 7% so I guess they're doing it), I would shove into Beraborrow sNECT or any L2 lending platform, take the bank loan, and farm to pay off. Especially if you're comfortable with your OpSec and job.

As much as you have safety fear, if you're saying you want to borrow against ETH like it can't drop 30%, the risk is much better as a lender and the yields are so high you can probably cover.
