99% are designers ? You are very kind ! i would say 99%  started doing art after NFT craze, they are hobbyists. but it doesn't mean they wont sell well, in fact they can sell well because they can allocate 80% of their time doing "social media marketing" while artists would spend 80% of their time doing art.

Very accurate description :) Find most of the artists I see are the ones not heavily marketing, focused on the craft and exploration.
