What do I do? I've been in a relationship with a lady for about a year. I was certainly not thrilled that she has a son, he is 6 years old, but thinly-unfortunately accepted the boy. In the fall we planned to get married and have 2 more children, I have a good job and a large apartment.
But the unforeseen happened. Her son got sick. The diagnosis is very serious. Now he will have at least two surgeries and a long rehabilitation. And that's with luck. Because doctors do not guarantee anything and say there is a real possibility of disability.
I've thought about it and decided we're done. But how do I tell her that? Somehow she thinks we're gonna fight it together. What makes her think that? I'm just a regular guy, not a superhero or a philanthropist. And I want my own kids, and right now that's out of the question.
But I can't just throw them out on the street, before me they were barely making ends meet, living on a rented apartment, she earns pennies, and there's a sick kid.
