During Q&A at a recent public talk I gave in southern Georgia, a gentlemen in VIP seating self-identified as a Nerd Redneck. Told him about “Blerds” (Black Nerds) and that he needed a name for his people. We agreed on “Nerdnecks.” Many Nerdnecks are also fans of StarTalkRadio.

I love this, I’m a mechanic and as a general rule mechanics aren’t a science/nerdy group, or maybe that’s just my workshop, they can’t see the awesome nerdy stuff we’re doing day in and out. Love star talk as well
