PDF is like a web 2.5 between electronic medium and paper medium. It is compatible to both digital presentation and printing. Through our these years, there have been many tools developed for it, such as PDF converters, readers, annotators, and even typesetting tools like LaTeX. 1/2

Perhaps if humans had started with electronics instead of paper, we wouldn't have needed something like PDF.
