Farcaster

Wallet UX is an existential problem for Farcaster. 

If we don't make it easy for users to do things onchain and easy for developers to build farcaster apps, we can't scale the network. 

We're thinking about solutions right now, but want to share the problem statement the team is thinking about. Feedback welcome!

Can someone please explain why is wallet UX considered an existential problem for Farcaster? I kinda get why it could be a problem for Warpcast, but I'm not getting it, is reducing number of clicks for onchain interactions is primary unlock for scaling the network?

I’ve onboarded a dozen people into crypto and Farcaster.

Is confused, frustrated and discouraged when having to understand that mobile is required, install a wallet, fund a wallet, wait you need ETH and base, connect an address, no don’t interact with those spam coins in your wallet, and the whole flaky way mobile wallets and the movie browsers switch back and forth.

Whatever your decentralized, borderless, neutral, censorship-resistant open blockchain question is, the answer is YES… to Crypto!

100% agree, just haven't realised this was the major unblock to solve for Farcaster network scalability itself, but maybe I haven't given this too much thought, quite frankly I'm now confused what is Farcaster

Now introduce microtransactions, subscriptions and NFTs you need to own just to post in a channel.

Agreed. It's still way too complicated for non-crypto people. My invites left almost immediately, despite my best efforts and paying for the year for them.
