Najafi horse or Takhi or Dzonghar horse (scientific name: Equus ferus przewalskii) is a rare and endangered subspecies of the wild horse (Equus ferus) that is native to the steppes of Central Asia, especially Mongolia.  This animal is characterized by a large body and head, a strong neck, and a yellowish cream color (samand).  Such awe of the Schwalski horse is often depicted in prehistoric art.  The average height of this horse reaches 1.25 meters./animals

The Schwalski's horse is the only subspecies that remains truly wild.
