Verguny are traditional Ukrainian cookies from Poltava region. Previously, verguny were treated to carolers, at vechernitsy. I remember the taste of verguny from childhood, my grandmother cooked them when we visited her, and it was a special treat. Because of their special shape, in my family we call them bunnies. At one time, they were cooked in almost all families. This simple, but such a hearty dish was loved by all children without exception. There are many different recipes! I prepare the dough with kefir or sour cream and use our family ingredient that makes verguny crispy, it is 1-2 tablespoons of vodka π«Ά
