Story The story of Mega Man is set in a futuristic world where robots are commonplace. The protagonist, Mega Man (originally a lab assistant robot named Rock), is reprogrammed by Dr. Light to stop the evil Dr. Wily, who has taken control of six Robot Masters created by Dr. Light. These Robot Masters—Cut Man, Guts Man, Ice Man, Bomb Man, Fire Man, and Elec Man—are wreaking havoc, and it’s up to Mega Man to defeat them and restore peace.

Gameplay Mega Man is renowned for its innovative gameplay, which blends platforming with strategic combat. Key features include: • Non-Linear Level Selection: Players can choose the order in which they face the six Robot Masters, a feature that was groundbreaking at the time. The order is crucial because each Robot Master has a specific weakness to one of the weapons gained from defeating another. • Weapon Acquisition: After defeating a Robot Master, Mega Man gains their unique weapon, which can be used in other stages. This rock-paper-scissors mechanic adds a layer of strategy to the game. • Challenging Platforming: The levels are designed with various obstacles, enemies, and traps that require precise timing and quick reflexes. • Boss Battles: Each stage culminates in a boss fight against the Robot Master, where players must figure out the most effective strategy and weapon to use.
