It’s time to catch ‘em all. Starting a Pokémon TCG Living Dex collection. One of each Pokemon in a big, beautiful binder. Meant to be a bit of fun and not to send me broke so cheaper cards with interesting art or story are the key. Any language. A slow burn for a bit of fun and appreciation of the hobby.

Scizor has so many awesome cards. I'm choosing a card I currently have rather than pursue a new one, just fortunate that the one I have is near perfect. Is this the coolest Scizor card? Got one you like better?

This line of Fossil Pokémon has to have had the most interesting mechanic with that mix and match system for getting them in-game. Arctovish's entry is this Japanese Jet-Black Spirit V card.

A lot of great Zacian cards out there but something about this one really does it for me. There's a really bright gold finish on this that I feel like I don't really see much on other cards and the almost-white border is super interesting. Seems to have come as a promo from a Celebrations pin collection pack.

This was the obvious choice for Clobbopus. Excellent art and the holographic finish makes the colours pretty vivid. Had to look up the artist and discovered it's the same one who made the infamous Bubble Mew!

Picked up a whole bunch of these Cyclizar promos in Osaka. 5ban Graphics striking again with the awesome 3D artwork. There's a full art card I'm keeping an eye out for, but pretty happy to add this card as the entry for Cyclizar in the binder.

Very tempted by the new full art Meowth promo, but the binder entry for this one has to be my own childhood copy of the Black Star Meowth promo that came with my copy of Pokemon TCG for Gameboy Color. There's so much nostalgia wrapped up in this card for me. A interesting promo. An epic handheld game with a banger of a soundtrack. Appearances by Imakuni? Iconic!

Mimikyu's entry is going to be this VMAX Climax card. A lot of good Mimikyu cards out there, but I've gotta start off with the cards I've got so far. These VMAX cards are so cool: the texture, that shiny finish mixed with the vivid colours. Love em all.

In what should be a surprise to absolutely no-one, my pick for the Mew entry is the epic Ancient Mew. There are plenty of really amazing Mew cards, but this is by far one of the most iconic cards of all time and the card going into the binder is my personal copy from childhood. It's a little banged up, but that just means it was loved for many years.

Adding this awesome Trainer Gallery card as the entry for Chandelure. I have the English yellow bordered card, but prefer the Japanese card with the silver border. Along the way, if I come across the Japanese card, I'll swap it out!

I've been having heaps of fun with Goodboy Galaxy. A modern game released on the Gameboy Advance. Tough, but not too punishing, awesome artwork and a lot of little nods to retro games and 90s pop culture. Anyone else given this a go?

Throwback to a beautiful day in Nara. The deer can be a bit feisty sometimes, they've been conditioned by tourists to expect treats so they'll come at you a bit aggressively sometimes. In fairness, I get hangry too 😂
