Australian company Q-CTRL has for the first time demonstrated its own secure quantum navigation system capable of operating independently of GPS. The system, dubbed "Ironstone Opal," is said to be unjammable and 50 times more accurate than GPS. According to the developers, GPS signal jamming is a major problem, as it disrupts the operation of vehicles that rely on it to determine their location. This is especially noticeable in situations of military conflicts and cyberattacks. Engineers from Q-CTRL emphasize that GPS jamming causes about a thousand flights to be canceled every day around the world. This, in turn, causes daily losses to the global economy of about $1 billion.
