tldr; unlonely is pivoting (but not in the way you're probably thinking of). for a while, unlonely has been trying to do 2 things right: 1. make dope shows / content around tokens 2. make a platform for others to do #1 essentially, is unlonely a platform or a content studio? this was the existential question grace and i were asking ourselves. and for a while we tried doing both.

Sell a man fish, he eats for a day. Teach a man how to fish and you’ll get fishing quotas and overfishing, you’ll get bottom trawlers that destroy the environment, you’ll get gigantic ocean plastic continents that are the size of countries, you get general habitat degradation, fish that aren’t fresh and frozen for weeks. Up to almost 40% of all the fish we catch is fish we don’t intend to catch, it’s called bycatch and we’re doing it. Not to even mention all the unreported and illegal fishing we have absolutely no idea. Extinction events, we are the extinction event. Don’t even get me started on farmed fishing, it is a nightmare. Think industrial chicken farming but with fish. We truly are not going to be eating real fish in 100 years I bet. Probably for the best I know; but the consequences will be total and utter destruction of our ocean habitat and ecosystem

“It’s a shame she didn’t get enough work done this week, I really liked her. She always was nice to her neighbors” the man in The Department of Labor Management remarked to his partner. He turned to his computer, double checked the work quota and pressed a key, silently sending a signal to the state mandated brain implant that shut down the woman’s body instantly. She felt no pain. Someone would pick her up in the morning to take her to be burned. A handful of bodies were used as fertilizer in the few farms that remained, but mostly everyone wound up in a giant silky dune of cremains. The technologists were working on ways to extract more from the bodies; scarce chemicals and compounds. Labor Management deaths were forbidden burials as it would take too much time away from work, for mourning. Plus while everyone knew it had to be done — nonproductive people with no other means had to die, society simply cannot support them— no one liked to look it in the eye.

Had an interesting conversation with a friend who was lactose intolerant. He started drinking Kafir which doesn’t have lactose. Now he can tolerate lactose. Our working theory is the bacteria in the Kafir colonized his gut microbiome, which can help which gave him the ability to digest lactose. Can someone else test
