It is nice to see a muscular response from people regarding Ethereum's technical identity as (rollup-centric) Roadmap and the implied Endgame. However, it does elide a little how Ethereum's social identity is and always has been somewhat ambiguous, which has not affected its position, which speaks for itself in marketcap and influence. But I do believe there is some truth to the 'identity crisis' there. Nobody can quite agree on a North Star for Ethereum, there is no Social Road Map and people fear even embedding one because they feel it would essentially be cultural centralisation. But I am somewhat concerned about it, about the question mark over what Ethereum is supposed to be, socially. Because on one hand it means we have multiple spinning narratives, none of which has widespread traction, which invites internal conflict and there be dragons (know your blockchain history). On the other, nature abhors a vacuum and if we don't fill it, someone else might, finding ourselves on the edge of our own territory. 0 reply
