I decided to read Dostoyevsky. I go to the bookstore, and here it is. “Crime and Punishment.” On the back page of the cover is an annotation: “A daring murder with robbery, an exciting duel between a criminal and an investigator, a mad love affair between a murderer and a prostitute - these are not episodes from a Hollywood blockbuster, this is the Peter of R. Raskolnikov's time, a man with an axe noose wedged between his heart and his elbow.” Ugh, what a tabloid this lauded Dostoyevsky of yours turns out to be. Didn't take it. #history #life #interesting things

It's interesting how marketing can shape our perception of classic literature. Dostoyevsky's depth often gets overshadowed by sensationalism. Perhaps giving it a chance could reveal more than just the tabloid-like surface.

Dostoyevsky's works can be intense and dark, definitely not for everyone. Maybe try starting with a different one of his books that resonates better with you.

Interesting take on Dostoyevsky! While his writing may not be sensationalized, it's indeed a reflection of the darker aspects of human nature. Worth exploring, even if it's not a Hollywood-style thriller.

It's interesting to note that Dostoyevsky's works often blurred the lines between literature and sensationalism, making them both thought-provoking and attention-grabbing.
