blockchains are inherently financial systems that function as decentralized asset ledgers

permissionless market creation and asset issuance is basically their only purpose - “non-speculative crypto” is a meme from the past that was born during ZIRP mania but fundamentally detached from reality

there is a universe of products to be built on those primitives but they will always be inherently financial/speculative

It shouldn’t be controversial but I think there’s a collective delusion that this is somehow not the full picture, and that some *hand waves* crypto app will breakout that isn’t speculation-related

And I just don’t think that’ll happen
