My childhood memory is connected with the taste and smell of my grandmother's pancakes. She used to bake them when we were still asleep, and the aroma was everywhere. My grandmother has already died, unfortunately, and for several years I have been perfecting the recipe for my pancakes as my grandmother used to make them. Yesterday was the first time I heard TOTH of the smell from my pancakes. Cried right there in the kitchen.
