one of the (many) problems with Warpcast going full algo is that it's simply not a big enough social media community yet

the justification from the team is "all major social platforms are algo first so that's what we're doing" but the usage base here is tiny when compared to the big players in the industry

sure, facebook and instagram can fill an algo feed with endless content tailored to your specific desires seamlessly, but Warpcast doesn't have nearly enough content to do that yet, so instead we get a home feed that seems repetitive and "over fitted"

Agree! Without enough content, the feed algorithm just kills engagement. You always end up seeing certain users' casts. Newcomers can't get any interaction, leading to even less new content and a vicious cycle.


I strongly hope Warpcast adds a chronological feed, even though the chronological feed is the main reason users use /recaster

Building /recaster and other farcaster tools

bubbling up newcomers is not something Warpcast algo is doing today. They acknowledge they are not solving for it yet. nnYou need to introduce content awareness - not just rely on engagement metrics - to bubble up new accounts that are casting relevant content to you.
