Interesting. I've been going back and forth with Web3Modal, as the OG connector, to ConnectKit, who was more up to date with latest developments for a while. But Web3Modal has been catching up and my default again

Never tried Rainbow tho

I prefer Web3Modal and RainbowKit, for the reason of being able to customize the list of displayed wallets on the initial modal.  

ConnectKit got an update in the last weeks, so now it should also be able to do this, but haven't worked with it that much
