According to Coindesk, Judge Brian Martinotti of the Federal District Court in New Jersey has made a ruling on the Coinbase shareholder class action lawsuit, partially rejecting Coinbase's motion to dismiss the lawsuit. The lawsuit originated in 2022, where shareholders accused Coinbase of misleading regulatory risk disclosure. The judge determined that the plaintiff has made credible allegations regarding Coinbase's behavior in describing the probability of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) taking enforcement action. Judge Martinotti stated in the ruling document that the plaintiff has fully argued that the defendant misled the SEC by describing the low probability of filing an enforcement lawsuit, repeatedly emphasizing that the listed cryptocurrency assets do not belong to securities. @surgeonsuresh
