some quick thots on ethereum alignment as a term: - the term itself needs to be more legible, to clarify if its the same, different or adds to the social layer. - the term rubs many the wrong way implying cultural centralisation and i often wonder if cypherpunk (MECA) is the better choice. it is easier for people to align with cypherpunk values broadly than what they may perceive to be Ethereum top brass (fantasised or not) - i would promote EA (or similar) in terms of the security of the protocol from social, cultural or political attacks. in an era where protocol security is robust, the social becomes the soft belly - legibility can lend legitimacy, but can lead to Goodhart's law, so we have to be careful (academia is a warning sign here)

interesting take! 🤔 the whole alignment thing can get blurry, especially with the cypherpunk vibe vs ethereum's "top brass" image. keep it real!
