Stripes infra is not required for many scenarios where people want to accept crypto and stablecoins as a payment method. The entire point of blockchain technology is to remove middlemen like Stripe who take custody of a merchants funds, takes a cut, (5/8)

I am excited that Stripe is now pushing stablecoin payments into the mainstream but there are some nuances here that are flying over many peoples heads. (4/8)

I was a little disheartened when I first saw the announcement but quickly realised the massive advantage that a crypto native alternative has. (3/8)

Their announcement also validates an idea that I have been working on quietly the past few weeks (maybe I will post that here soon). (2/8)

The recently announced Stripe stablecoin integration is a boon for the industry, further legitimising crypto networks as a superior payment method. (1/8)

Stripe just announced a centralised version of what I am working on 🥲 I guess that helps to validate my idea though 💡 https://techcrunch.com/2024/04/25/after-6-year-hiatus-stripe-to-start-taking-crypto-payments-starting-with-usdc-stablecoin

Thank you very much for this information. I am working on a simple payments system that is powered by stablecoins with the aim of being used by normal Kenyan folks.

Hi Richard, when the goat picture mint is finished, you will receive half of the money. Right now, that is about $2000 worth of Eth.

A 🔑 part of @richiejuma1603 being able to sell the different tokens he was sent for 🐐s is Binance. I assume you are P2P trading your tokens using Binance for local currency or something like that? Can you give us more information on how you buy a 🐐 with your crypto?

I want to build everyday tools for people like @richiejuma1603 so that he can accept stablecoins in an organised way for the goats that he sells naming rights to. Richie should be able to create and sell products online without any KYC bullshit.

Crypto interests me for its permissionless decentralised properties. Most importantly, blockchains enable public payment rails. These rails can be used by anyone and are incredibly easy to integrate with and innovate on-top of compared to traditional systems like Stripe etc.

You just select what you want to buy, add to cart, and scan QR code to connect CB Wallet, Metamask etc. You sign a message that contains details of the website you are on to authenticate, and then accept the token transfer. Message signing is basically instant to the user, and the token transfer is completed in 1-2s

I am interested in creating blockchain tools that do not require exposing the user to extra risk and cost via smart contracts. Lots of interesting things can be done purely through message signing and basic onchain transfers. Now that txs on Base and other L2s are so cheap + quick, simple payments are now viable.

I am building a simple payment service that allows users with a wallet to quickly and easily create and sell digital products via Layers 2s. It doesn't require the user to deploy or interact with smart contracts or approve anything. Completely non-custodial, no private key management (outside of your own wallet)
