So in this case the user is spending from their EOA when signing using the smart wallet? Am I understanding that right?

Yes that right. Basically you could 1. Add passkey and EOA owner 2. Sign auth from EOA to spend EOA assets 3. Use passkey to spend EOA via smart wallet
