So i took the bait, dove down the rabbit hole, and here's what I found:

I did some quick napkin math on the odds, and was pleased to see that many of the collections had reasonable odds of 1:1 to 1:2, basically a 50% - 100% probability of positive ROI, 1-2 orders of magnitude better than lottery tickets. And that’s before factoring in the MINT earned from each spin 👀

I even found 1 with positive ROI, an mfer worth .76 ETH, with .01 ETH spin price and 1 in 75 odds of winning. Normally this should set off alarm bells, but hey this is web3, and the odds are onchain and provably fair. I proceeded to spin maybe 15 or so more times, which was fun and easy because...

..insrt lets you mint multiple spins in a single tx. Once I had spent .1 ETH, I was committed to spinning until I won. Fortunately it did not take 75 spins, and after about 20 or so spins (I lost count 😅), that mfer was MINE 🏆 🎉

So to recap, I more than tripled my principal, earned 17.5K $MINT that I will def be holding, and most importantly, had a lot of fun and got to learn about and play with 2 cool dapps. Not bad for monday morn!

This W would not have happened if @relayer hadn’t presented @insrt to me let alone offered me a small, but motivating $5 incentive.

I first heard about @relayer about 7 months ago when @jacksanyoda introduced me to the @tsiz to explore integration with @undefined.

I was immediately a believer in the concept because I loved the idea of giving ShapeShift users cool “missions” where they could earn rewards for exploring the decentralized universe in a way that generates revenue for the DAO without costing the user anything (we had just done this with 20k users & 300k OP)

Without going too far on a tangent, I believe positive sum business models like this are a winning strategy, especially when it comes to open-source, community-owned apps.

That said, I always try to tame my relentless optimism with healthy skepticism. While @relayer sounded amazing in theory, it was just a concept at the time. So, we invited @tsiz to come present to the community during product office hours, liked what he pitched, but asked him to come back when relayer was live.

Fast forward 6 months, and today I got to see an early version of the product working even better than I had hoped it will. Props to @tsiz and the @relayer team for building something awesome, both for users, dapps, and interfaces/wallets. Bullish on y’all and hope to see you integrated with @undefined soon!
