A legal in the United States ICO without the dual class of ownership (c corp shares vs tokens) could work well here, I agree.

I don't think a C corp has the right incentives to do what they need to do, and I wouldn't want to be a part of that. Honestly even a shady ICO or something would have more aligned incentives.

This sort of work requires mass collective ownership and the ability to influence and benefit directly from the work.
