KOLs are panicking over X suspensions. Now, some are telling you to upload your ID to X to help you avoid a suspension. Why I won't do it - and why doing so is a serious opsec risk for anyone on Crypto Twitter. ๐Ÿงต

/ Let me be 100% clear: I'd rather get suspended than doxxed. Crypto is about self-sovereignty. So, uploading my government ID to a platform with a proven history of data leaks? That's not a safety net. It's a threat. ๐Ÿšจ

/ It's facts: Some accounts have been suspended recently. And yes, most weren't ID-verified. But when did "verify or get banned" become official policy? There's 0% guarantee your ID protects your account. There's 100% risk if the data leaks. ๐Ÿ’ง

/ X has already leaked user data before. Probably even internal tools were abused. The data exposed: ๐Ÿ“ง Emails ๐Ÿ“ž Phone numbers Now imagine your full name, address, birthday, and ID added to the stack. Bad actors would love that!

/ Many of us choose not to dox for a reason. Creators. Artists. Builders. Sleuths. Educators. Pseudonymity is protective. Are you willing to give that up for suspension paranoia? I wouldn't.
