Aces, A'Ja has been goating, Chelsea Gray is back, and I am intrigued to see how they come together down the stretch. Defense has been a problem, but they're ascending and are 2x reigning champs. Liberty dominated the first part of the season. They've had some health issues, but the bigs, Stewart and JJ, + Sabrina are lethal. Do they have enough depth and ceiling to overcome the Aces? Sun getting Mabrey is a major boost. Their defense best in W 72.9 ppg allowed and now should get a scoring boost. And, importantly, that scoring is a shooter who can space the floor for AT and Co. Top 6 players in the rotation look nice. We will see how Mabrey is integrated and how the role shakes out. Lynx have modeled consistency. Napheesa is all-W, McBride leading 3pt efficiency monster. They need to continue to play elite as a team, starting on D. Storm have been interesting after adding SDS and Nneka before the season. They have the star power and everyone should feel more comfortable in their roles.

Mercury have firepower but will have to play defense. BG coming back mid-way through first then Olympics should be rounding into form to help. Copper has been a dagger. Cloud a stud and DT shooting lights out. They will need to come together and show they can win consistently. Not much drama at the bottom of the playoffs, maybe the Dream can catch the Sky after Mabrey's departure. I'm optimistic Caitlin Clark can continue developing, and it's been impressive to watch her growth in a short period. Blown away by college right into W season and still getting better. Getting the Olympics off may be a blessing. I did take a CC ticket preseason to break the single-game scoring record 😅 but more importantly, she can continue to show the W new ways of playing.
