Making Farcaster useful

Imagine each NFT community had a group of mods. And when those mods like your post, you get a custom NFT.

Now each community can optimize a different metric besides popularity!

For example, in a proof-of-workout community you must post workout selfies to earn workout credit NFTs.

what's needed is robust ecosystem of middleware that devs can plug-play for use cases

app devs can't build middle on their own

Is there an argument for why some things should be middleware rather than baked into the protocol? Or is it just a matter of bandwidth (ie, indie devs can build all the middleware rather than wait for the Farcaster team to ship non-priority features)?
