my favorite writing about the civil war i’ve ever read — but (understandably!) bleak stuff

Have read a lot about the ACW, but not much specifically about Sumter. Larson’s books are narrative driven and often have a true crime angle. That the case here? What was going on at Sumter during the bombardment??
