val.town is great - insanely easy to set up little javascript crons to do stuff, including emailing or SMSing you (push notifications coming soon)

like for real? it handles the stuff for me?

Oh yeah. It’s truly awesome. 

They are changing it slightly in the coming weeks to make everything valid JavaScript so console.email will change to a Val function call - but the idea and feature will remain the same.
