I didn’t know the Roman Empire lasted until 470 AD. Thought there was the Roman Empire and then boom, Jesus came up and it was the end of it. The decline of a civilization can take a while...

It also “peaked” way after Jesus , circa 130 CE (Hadrian is my high water mark). The empire also didn’t “convert” to Christianity until ~300 CE!
