My design philosophy for /obsidian — it should be intuitive for beginners but have infinite depth for advanced users. Like going to the beach. You start in the shallow waters, and can stay there as long as you like, or keep swimming out into the ocean.

Many people who are new to Obsidian have the feeling of being dropped into the ocean, so that's something we'll be working on in the near term.

I use Recent Files by Tony Grosinger all the time and it’s always seemed to me like a basic function that should be part of the main product.
